Mara Plains Camp is located on the northern border of the Masai Mara Game Reserve in the 30,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy.
The Camp has just seven uniquely designed octagonal canvas rooms on raised decks with sweeping views across the savannahs. Each room is different and it is among the smallest and most personal camps in the Masai Mara region.
Mara Plains is one of just three camps currently operating within the Olare Orok Conservancy which boasts only one guest room per 700 acres!
At Mara Plains Camp they believe in keeping your experience intimate and personal, so there are no set camp schedule or meal times. Plans are tailored around the wildlife viewing of the day.
The advantage of being in the conservancy is that it is possible to avoid the high tourist density of the Masai Mara Game Reserve but guests have access to over 100,000 acres of low-density vehicle tourism lands as well as an additional 375,000 acres within the Masai Mara Game Reserve itself.
Mara Plains offers a wide range of activities - early morning and late afternoon and night game drives, balloon safaris (at extra cost), authentic local village visits and unrivalled access to superior wildlife habitats.
Set in a private conservancy offering outstanding predator densities with the camp itself just 20 metres from northern boundary of the Masai Mara National Reserve, Mara Plains camp is a very comfortable camp in a secluded position.
