The camp is situated in a remote part of the park and is named after the elusive Puku antelope which inhabits the Kakumbi Dambo floodplain. Built on a hillside - the camp has stunning views over this floodplain.
This traditional tented camp has a very intimate atmosphere. Enjpoy an authentic safari experience under canvas in comfort and style. The tents all have picture windows and a private decked balcony to take advantage of the fabulous vista.
The Camp is small and friendly and has been constructed to blend into the local surroundings. Puku Ridge has just seven luxury oversized tents which are beautifully furnished with big comfortable beds and elegant furniture.
Each of the luxuriously furnished tents boasts en-suite facilities including an outdoor shower - enjoy showering in the open air which is one of the little luxuries of Africa! All tents feature mosquito nets, private deck, ceiling fan and hairdryer.
The lounge and dining areas are open and the large wooden deck has wonderful views over the plains. Meals are taken out on the deck under the stars in good weather.
The camp offers a full range of game drives and night drives in the South Luangwa National Park using open 4X4 vehicles driven by a knowledgeable Sanctuary guide. A highlight of the drives are enjoying sundowners in some of the most stunning parts of the park!
After seeing nocturnal creatures on night game drives guests return to camp to enjoy drinks and supper at around 8pm.
The South Luangwa is the home of the walking safari. This is one of the best ways to see the wildlife and birds in the bush around Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp.
Puku Ridge welcomes children aged 9 years and above.
