This month we are pleased to contribute with a very special offer to trek to view lowland gorillas and forest elephants in the Central African Republic. This is one of world’s most remote rainforest regions. You will stay in a lodge perched on the banks of the Sangha River in the vast Congo Basin.
Owner and founder of Tracks Safaris Ltd, Sue Preater visited this area in March last year. “Visiting Central African Republic and particularly Sangha Lodge was an unforgettable experience. The opportunity to trek to see western lowland gorillas close up in this habitat is very special and there is now a new gorilla family newly habituated. Spending time on the platform at the wonderful Dzanga Bai was the highlight of the trip – watching the constant stream of elephants come and go all day. The elephants come to take the mineral rich salts in the bai and socialise – there are other species wandering in – such as forest buffalo, red river hogs and bongo. Birding is outstanding in this area and you have a very real chance of seeing a very rare tree pangolin in the wild. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit one of the most remote rainforests on the planet – 7 nights here is a complete adventure and includes something for everyone – culture, wildlife, birding, canoeing, hiking and a whole bucketful of adventure. Tracks Safaris are offering to wrap the whole experience up with flights to form an ATOL bonded holiday to this amazing destination”.
You can read more on our website HERE or in the special offer newsletter. If you would like insight from someone who has personal experience of this destination, Sue will be pleased to talk through your options with you.
