This beautiful female leopard was viewed 18th September 2025 in the Lower Zambezi National Park. The image was captured by Sue Preater using a Canon EOS R6 Mk II with Canon RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM lens from an open sided Toyota Land Cruiser conversion while  travelling with Tracks Safaris.

Anabezi, a luxury tented camp on the banks of the River Zambezi, was base for the late afternoon drive. This area is one of the world’s last remaining untouched natural landscapes. Exceptional game viewing is assured – the area is home to a host of diverse wildlife including lion, leopard, hyena as well as an abundance of other indigenous species.

The Lower Zambezi National Park is one of the best areas in Africa to view leopard – the park’s high overall wildlife density, combined with suitable habitats like rocky outcrops and riverine forests, supports this dense leopard population.

The park also boasts over 400 species of birds. A ground hornbill can be spotted from the branches of the mopane trees, a tiny red-billed firefinch might serenade you from your private balcony, while the cry of the African fish eagle reverberates across the river. Zambia’s natural wilderness is home to an expansive variety of birds, a dream destination for the enthusiastic birdwatchers.

Anabezi offers early morning and late afternoon game drives to really get to know the area around camp and get closer to the wildlife. Enjoy a private sundowner watching elephants crossing the Zambezi or your coffee in the morning amongst the splendour of the Winterthorn forest after an exciting morning tracking lion and leopard!

Tracks Safaris create extraordinary wildlife journeys across Africa, the Indian Ocean and the sub-continent. Drawing on extensive experience and with the security of full financial protection we aim to get you closer to your dream safari adventure.
