Mana Pools Canoeing – Zimbabwe
We have a number of itineraries which are perfect for adventurous travellers – allowing you to get close encounters with wildlife on one of the greatest rivers in Africa.

This thrilling experience traverses the Mana Pools National Park, through the heart of Mana Pools and along the Zambezi’s shoreline, canoeing past countless hippos on the way! Each night is spent camping on the banks of the Zambezi River listening to the sounds of Africa!

Encounters with animals, whether on canoe or on foot, are up close and awe-inspiring and this type of itinerary is ideal for reasonably fit guests and is led by an experienced guide.

You have an option of a basic explorer style safari – a 3 night/4 day expeditionary styled canoe safari. You carry everything in your canoes and the accommodation is rustic (small mosquito mesh one man tent) and there is some participation in setting up camp, cooking etc.

Explorer Safaris come with a fully qualified canoe guide who will navigate you down the great Zambezi – however please note you cannot walk whilst on the islands. The guide will take care of the cooking, washing up and other camp tasks and being semi participatory, you are free to help.

The Luxury Canoe Safari is fully backed up meaning that you can sit back and relax. Activities are tailored around you. The camps have full waiter service, spacious walk in tents with en suite toilets and hot open air showers. All meals are freshly prepared on open campfires by experienced cooks and are enjoyed al fresco. Accommodation is in spacious walk-in style tents supplied with en-suite toilet facilities for night-use and comfortable beds with fresh linen. Guests enjoy the services of a fully qualified professional guide who as well as guiding clients on the Zambezi River, can take clients for guided walks or game drives through National Parks.
