Kinasi Lodge is an intimate resort situated in an old cashew and coconut plantation and provides a comfortable stay amidst stylish decor and the magnificent natural surroundings of the marine park and overlooking Chole Bay.
Beautifully furnished with a Thai twist, the cottages have walk in mosquito nets around the beds and have been designed to catch the cool sea breezes. The rooms have lovely finishing touches such as silk bathrobes hanging in the en suite bathroom.
The room designs, furnishings and finishes are eclectic, combining elements of coastal Tanzania, African, Indian, Arab and Thai cultures into a Shirazi style that is unique to Kinasi Lodge.
The cottages all have private verandas overlooking the sand beach and Indian Ocean and are dotted around the gardens. There is a good sized pool and bar area and a spa and a dive centre on site.
The lodge works on an eco model, helping to preserve the natural environment.
This includes solar heated hot water, energy saving programmes, utilising bio gas for cooking and the manufacture of compost for vegetable gardens, grey water recycling, tree planting, solid waste management and controlling introduced pests.
