Kandolhu Maldives is a hidden gem in the North Ari Atoll, where intimacy meets indulgence. This boutique resort is famed for its extraordinary house reef—teeming with marine life just metres from the shore. With only 30 villas, the atmosphere is quiet, private, and wonderfully romantic. Every element, from architecture to cuisine, is designed for unforgettable moments in one of the most magical corners of the Maldives.
Location
Kandolhu is located in the North Ari Atoll, approximately 70 kilometres southwest of Malé. Guests arrive via a 25-minute scenic seaplane flight from Velana International Airport, followed by a short speedboat ride. The island’s ease of access makes it perfect for those seeking quick immersion into tranquillity and natural beauty.
The Accommodation
There are just 30 villas on the island, each exquisitely designed to offer privacy and luxury. Guests can choose from Beach Villas, Pool Villas, Duplex Pool Villas, Ocean Villas, and Ocean Pool Villas. Every villa includes contemporary amenities, an expansive bathroom, and either direct beach or lagoon access. Ocean Pool Villas, perched over the turquoise lagoon, come with their own private infinity plunge pool and uninterrupted sea views.
Activities, Snorkelling and Diving
Kandolhu is widely praised for its extraordinary house reef, which encircles the entire island. Guests can snorkel directly from the beach and encounter vibrant corals, reef sharks, rays, and sea turtles. The fully-equipped PADI dive centre offers trips to over 30 dive sites in the North and South Ari Atolls, catering to beginners and experienced divers alike. Other activities include catamaran sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, sunset cruises, and fishing excursions.
Conservation and Giving Back
Kandolhu Maldives is committed to sustainability and marine preservation. The resort uses refillable glass water bottles, solar energy, and eco-conscious amenities throughout. Its on-site marine biology team conducts reef monitoring and conservation efforts, and guests are encouraged to learn more about protecting the fragile ecosystems of the Maldives.
