Located close to the Tanzanian border, Lugenda Wilderness Camp is situated in the greater Niassa National Reserve in the remote northern corner of Mozambique.
Niassa National Reserve provides refuge for over 200 endangered Cape Hunting Dog (Arican Wild Dog), lion, leopard, spotted hyena, Kudu, Bushbuck, impala, wildebeest, waterbuck, reedbuck and hippo.
The eight luxury tents are situated on the banks of the Lugenda beneath towering fig trees.
Each has its own patio deck with wide angled views, and blends into the natural surroundings whilst offering every modern comfort. Accommodation includes king sized beds, en suite bathrooms with bath and shower, double basins, ceiling fans, personal safes and hairdryers.
The timber and thatched guest area is at the heart of the camp and is a shady refuge from the hot sun and you can enjoy sundowners watching the sun set over the Niassa mountains.
The swimming pool is just metres from the river and is the ideal way to cool down whilst enjoying the wonderful views.
The lodge will take you out on open vehicle safari drives or walking with qualified guides in the early morning or late afternoon.
Bird lovers will enjoy the opportunity to spot up to 370 bird species including the rare Angolan Pitta and Pel’s Fishing Owl as well as abundant raptors.
