The Accommodation

Makunudu Island features just 36 beachfront bungalows, each styled with local materials and natural tones to blend into the island’s lush surroundings. Rooms are cosy and traditional, offering modern comforts like air conditioning, open-air showers, and direct beach access. Dining is a highlight, with the Ara Iru restaurant serving fresh seafood and international cuisine, and special beach dinners available for romantic occasions.

Activities, Snorkelling and Diving

Makunudu Island is home to a healthy house reef that is easily accessible for snorkellers and supports a variety of colourful marine life. The island’s dive centre offers PADI courses and excursions to over 30 nearby dive sites, including thilas and wrecks, making it a great base for divers of all levels. Kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and cultural experiences like Maldivian cooking classes add further depth to the activity offerings.

Conservation and Giving Back

Makunudu Island maintains a gentle ecological footprint, working to protect its natural surroundings through responsible waste management and conservation of its reef and beach environment. While there is no formal marine biology program, the resort encourages sustainable practices and offers guests information on local wildlife and environmental awareness.
