The lodge has forty-four river facing and airconditioned rooms featuring overhead fans, complimentary mini bar, luxurious ensuite bathrooms and a private terrace. For those guests who demand the ultimate in exclusivity, the Lodge has four river-view suites, each with its own plunge pool and separate lounge area.

Activities include early-morning and late-afternoon game drives in open-sided 4×4 vehicles and riverside game viewing is offered from small and highly manoeuvrable boats which are perfect for morning or sunset cruises. You can also take a peek at the back of house and join the midday eco tour which takes a look at the sustainable tourism initiatives implemented at the lodge.

Chobe Game Lodge is set within the Chobe National Park in northern Botswana.

Access is from Kasane International Airport where you will be met and transferred to the lodge. The portion from Kasane Airport to Sedudu Gate (entrance to Chobe National Park) is on a tarred road, the remainder of the transfer inside the Chobe National Park is on a sand road suitable for 4WD vehicles only. Total transfer time from Kasane Airport to Chobe Game Lodge is approximately 45 minutes.

LODGE

Chobe Game Lodge has a good choice of accommodation:

There are 35 standard rooms and one standard family room which are newly rebuilt, decorated and expanded in size which open onto a spacious terrace facing the Chobe River. Inside the rooms are all the amenities and comforts you expect from a luxury safari lodge. The ensuite bathrooms include a large bath and separate shower, while air-conditioners and overhead fans ensure you have a comfortable stay. Interleading standard rooms are available for families on request.

The standard family room is available for families and has two separate bedrooms with a shared bathroom and a patio facing the Chobe River.

The Honeymoon Suite enjoys the most private location in the lodge and was the chosen suite for famous honeymoon couple Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in 1975. The suite has a similar layout to the luxury family suites with a large private terrace, infinity plunge pool and large, relaxing sun-loungers with Chobe River views. Inside the suite is an open-plan lounge with comfortable loungers and a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed. Leading from the bedroom, the luxurious bathroom includes a separate bath, large shower and twin basins.

The lodge has 3 Family Suites (suitable only for children over 6 years of age) which offer space and privacy overlooking the Chobe River. Large wooden doors lead onto a private terrace and infinity plunge pool and inside is an open-plan lounge with comfortable loungers, a master bedroom with double bed and a second bedroom with twin beds, all opening onto the terrace. The shared bathroom is spacious and includes a separate bath, shower and twin washbasins. The room has been luxuriously appointed with air-conditioning, overhead fans and all the amenities you’d expect to enjoy on a luxury safari. In-room dining can be arranged with flexible mealtimes in the evenings.

There are 4 Triple Rooms which are newly designed and located in the main area of the lodge. Ideal for families, the triple room has a larger, more private terrace, two bathrooms and a lounge area that can be converted to accommodate a comfortable single bed. The ensuite bathrooms include a large bath and separate shower while the other toilet includes a walk-in shower only. There are air-conditioners and overhead fans in each room.

Chobe Game Lodge is designed as a haven of peace and privacy – where relaxation is effortless and you can enjoy your own space. With six comfortably furnished viewing decks, a riverside boma, two bars, six different lounges and four dining locations, a comfy chair or lounger is never far away, each with a different perspective on the wilderness that surrounds the lodge. The lodge has a large swimming pool with waiters on hand to bring you refreshments from the bar.

Guests wishing to pamper themselves are welcome to book one of the treatments from the in-house beautician (for which there is an extra charge) or visit the gym for some exercise (complimentary).

The Chobe Boardwalk and Deck is the perfect place to relax or explore during your spare time at the lodge with excellent game viewing, a bar and plenty of areas to just sit back and watch the sunset.

Chobe Game Lodge caters for travellers with disabilities; all recent additions to the lodge were designed to provide easy accessibility.

GIVING BACK

The CARES philosophy is the foundation on which Desert & Delta Safaris is built, highlighting our core values in developing human potential and building a sustainable tourism model.

Established in 1982, Desert & Delta Safaris is one of the most successful safari operators in Botswana. Their philosophy and core values in supporting people and protecting the natural heritage of Botswana is at the forefront of how they run their business.

Through a variety of initiatives, they support local communities, focused on creating career opportunities in the tourism industry.

Desert & Delta Safaris employs approximately 320 staff members within the eight safari lodges and the remote location of properties means access to medical care is a challenge, so they employ a full time company doctor. Run as a family practice, the company doctor conducts regular visits to each of the properties allowing him to get to know the staff individually to understand their specific medical needs as a GP but ensuring that the best medical advice and mentoring is freely available.

The company is eco-conscious, driving sustainable and innovative initiatives within daily operations which protect and limit the impact of business on the areas in which they work.

As members of Botswana Tourism, several of the Desert & Delta Safaris camps and lodges are EcoTourism rated, the highest status recognised by Botswana Tourism for sound sustainable tourism initiatives. This includes the usage of greywater treatment plants, careful waste management protocols as well as the use of sustainable building materials wherever possible.
