OKUTI CAMP – MOREMI GAME RESERVE
Okuti is beautifully designed and very unique camp perched close to the Xakanaxa Lagoon and draws its influence from the Maunachira River which flows in front of the camp with its wonderful birdlife, fish and sandy river banks. The camp is built amidst the wilderness of one of Botswana’s prime game viewing regions – Moremi Game Reserve – and is a very comfortable and luxurious family friendly camp with just 5 Masatas and 2 family Masatas. Activities include exploring the Okavango Delta waterways by motorboat and the areas open lagoons and winding channels make it a birder’s paradise with herons and storks in the breeding season. As the camp is within the Moremi Game Reserve it does not offer walking safaris and vehicles are not allowed by the park to offroad.
LOCATION
The camp is set on the Maunachira River in the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta in northern Botswana.
CAMP
Okuti has just five very spacious twin and double-bedded ‘Masasas’ – ancient tribal word for house of reeds and is exceptionally unique in style and architecture. All the rooms overlook the permanent Maunachira channel. Each room has ensuite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor shower, hot and cold running water and flush toilet. The honeymoon unit features a double bed, bathtub, indoor and outdoor shower.
An additional two family Masasas have two bedrooms which share spacious bathroom facilities and each ensuite bathroom has both an indoor and outdoor shower., hot and cold running water and flush toilet.
Okuti’s spacious curved mosasas are located on raised teak decks with river views and there is a dining room, bar, seating area and an open deck for evenings around the campfire.
The camp has a Swimming pool.
All the rooms and the main area are connected by raised wooden walkways all areas of camp are wheelchair accessible.

GIVING BACK
Ker & Downey Botswana operates as a collection agent for Chobe Impact, an independent not for profit entity. Chobe Impact applies the funds to projects making a positive impact in the key areas of education, community empowerment, research, and conservation. Ker & Downey Botswana commits to match each donation from its own profits. For every full paying bed night booked in a Ker & Downey Botswana property, USD5 will be added to the invoice as a discretionary donation to the Chobe Impact.
Their historical support for Bana Ba Letsatsi (www.banabaletsatsi.org) and the Dinaka Rhino Conservation Fund will continue, but through Chobe Impact.
