Onguma Forest Camp – Secluded Safari Charm in a Riverine Forest
Onguma Forest Camp, formerly known as Etosha Aoba Lodge, offers a serene and authentic safari experience in a tranquil forested setting. With a rustic-luxury aesthetic and excellent service, it’s ideal for guests seeking quiet comfort and proximity to Etosha.
Location
The camp is nestled in a riverine forest inside Onguma Nature Reserve, on the eastern border of Etosha National Park. Its location offers peace and seclusion, while still allowing convenient access to game drives and wildlife-rich plains.
The Camp – Accommodation & Style
Onguma Forest Camp has a total of 11 thatched bungalows spaced throughout the forest canopy – four free standing Heritage Bungalows with air-conditioning, 3 Bush Suites which each have two rooms with an inter-leading bathroom that can accommodate 4 adults, three new Explorer Bungalows boasting privacy and seclusion, and a Honeymoon Bungalow that is extremely private and secluded with both an outdoor shower and bath.
Rooms feature mosquito nets, en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, and private verandas.
The camp includes a small swimming pool, wine cellar, bar, and a raised deck with waterhole views. On most nights dinner is served under the stars and there is a well stocked wine cellar – here wines can be tasted and selected to complement your meal.
