DESERT QUIVER CAMP – SOSSUSVLEI

Desert Quiver Camp combines comfortable, modern self-catering accommodation in an outstanding desert location and is conveniently located 5km from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei. Meals can be enjoyed at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge restaurant and their Adventure Centre offers a range of activities to explore the area.

The 24 uniquely designed self-catering units have spacious bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, shaded patio areas and private parking. The patio is equipped with a barbeque facility and there is a fitted kitchenette with fridge.

Desert Quiver Camp offers a bar with a big screen television, a sparkling swimming pool overlooking the grasslands and Elim Dune, 2 communal bomas which are perfect to cater for groups travelling together, and a reception with WIFI.

LOCATION

Desert Quiver Camp is situated on a 40, 000-hectare private reserve approximately 5 kilometres away from Sossusvlei Lodge which lies directly adjacent to the Sesriem gate of the Namib Naukluft Park.

The best way to access Desert Quiver Lodge is self-drive which takes around 4 hours from Windhoek.

CAMP

The 24 modern self-catering accommodation units at Desert Quiver Camp are uniquely designed to blend in perfectly with the natural surrounding environment.

Each spacious bedroom features twin beds, a fold-out sleeper couch, space for suitcases, shelves, hanging space and an electronic safe. The ensuite bathroom is equipped with a shower, toilet and wash basin with vanity space. Two small children under the age of 12 years can be accommodated on the fold-out sleeper couch.

The patio area has a barbeque facility, fitted kitchenette with a wash up area, under counter fridge, 2-plate hob and a wooden bench for seating. Utility boxes with most utensils needed for self-catering are available at reception and fresh food supplies can be ordered daily.

A range of activities can be booked at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre which offers a range of exciting desert activities to explore the area Sossusvlei Lodge

GIVING BACK

Support the Little Bug Kindergarten – the only kindergarten in our area where our children receive proper education. We provide assistance in terms of food, materials as well as visits to our Lodges for the children when teaching appropriate topics.

Support the Little Bug Kindergarten parents – purchasing items from their collection for our curio shops. Collecting bottle caps and other recyclables for them to use for the making of their curio products.

We assist with the servicing and upkeep of emergency vehicles (ambulances) of the Maete Clinic in Sesriem as well as Police vehicles

Members of Taleni Management are enlisted as police reservists and regularly assist the Namibian Police Force with duties in the Sesriem community.

All Taleni properties have their own fire brigade with fire cruisers and serve the immediate community with assistance if fires break out.

We have the only airstrip in the area authorised for night landing and constantly assist E-Mmed, Lifelink and the MVA fund when guests and staff of the entire area must receive medical assistance or immediate evacuation.

Assist Raptors Namibia with their yearly survey of Lapped Faced Vultures in our area by providing accommodation and joining them if and when possible.

Regular joint ventures with M.E.T (Ministry of Environment and Tourism) pertaining to maintenance projects in the National Park like the upgrade of the entrance gate to the Namib Naukluft Park; projects regarding signage, fence repairs and route markings and also doing regular waste removal and cleaning-up projects inside the Park.
