Pelican Point Lodge – A Lighthouse of Coastal Magic
Perched on the remote Pelican Point Peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and Walvis Bay Lagoon, this once-harbour control building has been transformed into a boutique jewel on Namibia’s Skeleton Coast. Here, serenity meets spectacle—wake to crashing waves and playful seals, unwind under dramatic skies, and let the wild coastline fill your senses with quiet wonder.
Location
Set on a windswept sandbar, a short (yet unforgettable) drive from Walvis Bay, Pelican Point Lodge invites guests into a world of isolation and beauty. With the Atlantic to one side and the lagoon to the other, it’s a sanctuary of solitude and marine life—from flamingos and pelicans to curious jackals and distant ship silhouettes.
The Lodge
This converted harbour control tower now houses 10 luxuriously eclectic suites—each offering floor-to-ceiling windows, private decks, and uninterrupted coastal views. Each suite is uniquely styled with contemporary comforts and a bio-fireplace for cozy desert evenings. At the pinnacle lies the dramatic Captain’s Cove, a penthouse with 360° views over sea, sand, and sky.
Activities
Adventure begins at your doorstep: stroll the peninsula to photograph seals on the jetty, kayak among hundreds of Cape fur seals, or watch flamingos bathe in lagoon waters. Go dune-boarding, quad-biking, or birdwatching at your pace—and consider a scenic flight, marine cruise, or Topnaar cultural tour when you crave broader horizons.
Community & Conservation
Pelican Point Lodge exists in harmony with one of Namibia’s most fragile ecosystems. With thoughtful energy use (balancing generator and gravitational water systems), waste management, and habitat awareness, the lodge maintains a light ecological footprint. Guests feel connected to the environment—and responsible tourism.
