FIVE VOLCANOES BOUTIQUE HOTEL – MUSANZE – VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel in is located in Musanze (Ruhengeri) and on the road to Kinigi and is just 10 minutes’ drive from the National Park Headquarters where gorilla trekking starts.  Five Volcanoes is a good budget to mid option for those looking to trek to see the gorillas and enjoy the different activities that the Volcanoes National Park area offers.

The lodge has a total of 13 ensuite rooms with a choice of deluxe bedrooms, a family suite, the cottage and Volcano Manor.   In the main area is a comfortable lounge, a restaurant and a bar and the lodge has a good-sized swimming pool set within lovely lawned gardens planted with shrubs, trees and flowers.  For those wanting to just chill there are sun loungers and hammocks in the gardens and a Spa Hut to ease weary walking limbs.

There is lots to do in the area apart from gorilla and golden monkey trekking – enjoy a cycling tour with African Rising Cycling team which is located near the lodge or see the Rwandan countryside while floating through the thousand hills on a canoe.

LOCATION

Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel and Spa is located on the Kinigi road just outside Musanze close to Volcanoes National Park in north western Rwanda.  Access is by road transfer from Kigali which takes around 2.5 hours.

LODGE

The lodge has just 13 rooms which are whitewashed under red tiled roofs set in very pretty gardens.  There is a good choice of accommodation:

Deluxe double rooms are spacious with a king size bed or two separate beds and have ensuite bathrooms with a rain fall shower and a bathtub with a separate dressing room to store your luggage. The rooms are equipped with a mini bar and a tea/coffee station,

The Family suite consists of two bedrooms both with an ensuite bathroom with rain fall showers. The rooms are connected by a sitting room with TV and mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities.

The Cottage has two large bedrooms each with its own ensuite bathroom with rainfall showers and a living room with a dining area.

Volcano Manor has a master suite with jacuzzi and two further ensuite bedrooms – one being accessible for special needs guests.

Both air conditioning and WIFI are available at the lodge.

Gorilla Trekking – is one of the most popular activities of the region. Enjoy one unforgettable hour with the Mountain Gorillas and a great hike through the forest.

Golden Monkeys – trek to see Golden Monkeys through the bamboo forest.

Africa Rising Cycling Centre – the Africa Rising Cycling Team Rwanda is just a few hundred meters up the road from the Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel and you can rent bikes there and book a cycling tour with a member of the cycling team.
