&Beyond Klein’s Camp is located in the north eastern Serengeti in northern Tanzania.
Beuatifully situated on the edge of the Kuka Hills, &Beyond Klein’s Camp consists of just ten intimate cottages made of local stone and makuti thatch, with rich wooden floors and classic interiors. Each cottage has an ensuite bathroom and private veranda with wonderful views over the surrounding hills and the valley below.
The camp is a fantastic destination for group and family travel and it offers two spacious cottages that make up a family suite. The cottages are connected by a protected walkway which allows easy access between the cottages while maintaining complete privacy. The family cottage can accommodate up to two adults and two children (three children can be accommodated on special request). Each cottage has an ensuite bathroom and private veranda with breath taking views over the surrounding hills and the valley below.
Overlooking the wooded hillside, rolling grasslands, lush marshes and forested river banks of the Serengeti and with Kenya’s renowned Masai Mara directly to the north, Klein’s Camp is one of the most strategically positioned wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Set on the edge of the Kuka Hills it commands breath-taking views of the valley below through which huge herds of wildebeest and zebra migrate each year. While the Great Migration is an annual highlight you can experience excellent year-round lion, leopard and cheetah sightings. Huge herds of buffalo and breeding herds of elephant are all resident and birdwatching in the seasonal marshlands is exceptionally rewarding. Several species of raptor breed on the cliffs above Klein’s Camp and numerous birds of prey, including vultures and eagles, are frequently spotted soaring on the updraft
Game Drives - set on a private concession on the northern border of the Serengeti National Park, &Beyond Klein’s Camp offers the opportunity to experience night drives and go off-roading in search of wildlife in open safari vehicles with a canvas canopy. Because they are conducted in a private concession, game drives do not encounter vehicles other than those from Klein’s, allowing the rare luxury of relatively private animal sightings while benefitting from the wildlife riches of the neighbouring Serengeti.
The camp overlooks a popular route used by the herds of the Great Migration when moving between north and south so that, twice a year, the valley below are filled with a jostling throng of zebra and wildebeest. However, this wildlife-rich area delights at any time of year and the Klein’s concession is famous for its enormous prides of lion and some of the best leopard viewing in Tanzania.
Night game drive - the African bush comes to life with predators and other nocturnal creatures and you have the opportunity to encounter fascinating species not normally seen in daylight.
Bush Walks - embark on an adventure where your feet tread in the tracks of zebra and buffalo, your nostrils fill with the scent of crushed wild grasses and you push through the brush and all six senses re-awake.
Children visiting the camp - can take advantage of the fun-filled and interactive WILDChild programme that offers various activities such as (and amongst many) tracking animal footprints with a guide, joining a mouth-watering pizza party, making a fire the Maasai way, playing soccer with the staff and for older children, spear throwing or shooting bows and arrows.
Community Visit - visit the Ololosokwan Clinic, Ololosokwan Primary School and Meirowa School. Meet the doctors, teachers and community members, and be guided by one of the &Beyond guides who have grown up in the area
