Lake Mburo Camp – Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda
Lake Mburo Camp is a classic tented safari camp set within the rolling hills and acacia woodlands of Lake Mburo National Park. Intimate, traditional and perfectly positioned, the camp offers a tranquil retreat with close access to the park’s rich wildlife and landscapes.
Accommodation
The camp offers ten spacious safari tents, each comfortably furnished with large beds, en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, and private verandas overlooking the surrounding bush. The tents are positioned to provide both privacy and views, with wildlife often passing close by. With a maximum of twenty guests, the camp provides an authentic and personal safari experience.
The Experience
Lake Mburo Camp is a superb base for exploring Uganda’s smallest savannah park. Activities include game drives in search of zebra, impala, buffalo and the rare eland antelope, as well as guided walking safaris that allow guests to experience the bush at close quarters. Boat trips on Lake Mburo reveal hippos, crocodiles and abundant birdlife, while night drives provide the opportunity to see leopard and other nocturnal species. Horseback safaris are a highlight, offering a unique perspective on the park’s open plains. After a day’s activities, guests can enjoy sundowners overlooking the valley and dinner under the stars in the camp’s open-sided dining area.
Location
Situated in the heart of Lake Mburo National Park, the camp is surrounded by rolling hills, acacia woodland and five picturesque lakes. The park is home to over 350 bird species and is the only place in Uganda where impala are found. Its convenient location between Kampala and the western national parks makes it an ideal stopover as well as a rewarding safari destination in its own right.
