CHANGA SAFARI LODGE – MATUSADONA NATIONAL PARK – LAKE KARIBA
Changa Safari Camp is set in a remote location on the shores of Lake Kariba within the Matusadona National Park and with stunning views of the Matusadona mountains. The camp offers a unique mix of luxury, wildlife, relaxation and activities and is ideal for a little rest and relaxation after your safari to Zimbabwe.
Situated on a private 4km stretch of beach on Lake Kariba’s shoreline, the camp has been built to blend into the bush. The design of the camp allows you to experience nature as closely and luxuriously as possible and each ensuite tent is beautifully furnished with king-sized beds and both outside and inside baths and showers.
This wilderness area offers exceptional game drives as well as walking and fishing safaris. Healthy populations of predators, including lion, leopard, hyena, and cheetah as well as elephant, buffalo and antelope frequent the shoreline, and hippos and crocodiles are abundant in the cool waters. Birdlife is prolific with 350 species having been identified in the area.

ACTIVITIES AND WILDLIFE
Game Drives – a leisurely drive in an open safari vehicle with your guide is the perfect way to discover the area and provides an opportunity to see a wider variety of game and scenery as you cover much more ground than on a game walk.
Game Walk – arguably the best way to experience and feel in touch with the African bush. Your professional guide has a thorough knowledge of the area and you can experience Matusadona’s smaller biodiversity. Walks are in the early mornings and late afternoons for your comfort.
Bird Watching – explore the multitude of bays and river inlets where the birdlife is prolific and elephants and antelope abound.
Fishing – Kariba is a fisherman’s paradise and you can try for tiger fish or bream.
Sanyati Gorge Trips – short boat ride across the lake will bring you to the scenic Sanyati Gorge where you can meander peacefully through the steep cliffs for up to 10 km. The Sanyati Gorge is both unspoilt and undisturbed with an abundance of birdlife, the occasional sighting of antelope and great fishing.
Boat Cruises – relax and enjoy Lake Kariba! Whilst drifting along the banks of the lake you will encounter some great wildlife sightings in their peaceful surroundings and the boat will get you close to photograph birds. Enjoy sundowners whilst watching the sun set over the lake.
Neil Fairlie Photographic Guide at Changa Safari Camp – a native Zimbabwean, Neil Fairlie is a professional wildlife documentary filmmaker with a profound knowledge and deep respect for Africa and its wildlife. His formal experience spans a decade, including the recent Netflix series Our Planet, but his intimate knowledge of the bush, natural instincts and his skill in capturing unique moments of animal behaviour on film make him a brilliant photographic safari guide.
