Situated close to Nairobi National Park in the leafy Karen district, the camp provides a wonderfully convenient overnight stop for those arriving late into Kenya or catching an early international flight home. Rather than spending the night in a conventional airport hotel, you can relax in a peaceful, natural setting where giraffe, zebra, antelope and abundant birdlife are regular visitors, all with the skyline of Nairobi visible beyond the wilderness.

The camp is located adjacent to Nairobi National Park in Karen with easy access the main airports and to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Giraffe Centre.
Accommodation
Porini Nairobi Tented Camp offers a small collection of spacious safari tents designed to provide all the comforts expected by modern travellers while retaining the character of a traditional East African safari camp.
Each tent is furnished with comfortable beds, quality linens, bedside lighting and private en-suite bathroom facilities with hot showers and flush toilets. Wooden furnishings, canvas walls and shaded verandas create a relaxed atmosphere at the beginning or conclusion of your Kenyan safari.
The relatively small size of the camp ensures a peaceful and personal experience, with attentive service and an intimate atmosphere that larger city hotels simply cannot replicate. Meals are served in the camp’s dining area, where freshly prepared dishes combine international favourites with local influences. Breakfasts are generous, while lunches and dinners provide a varied menu featuring seasonal ingredients. Guests can also relax with a drink around the camp after a long international flight or before heading home, enjoying the sounds of birds and wildlife rather than city traffic.
Wildlife on Your Doorstep and Activities
One of the camp’s greatest attractions is the opportunity to experience wildlife almost immediately after landing in Kenya. Nairobi National Park supports variety of species including lion, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland, hartebeest, impala, wildebeest and both black and white rhinoceros. While predators are naturally more elusive, the park offers rewarding game viewing considering its proximity to the capital. The surrounding area also supports prolific birdlife, making the camp an enjoyable destination for guests simply relaxing between flights.
If you have additional time, you can take advantage of nearby attractions – Nairobi National Park, visits to museums such as the Karen Blixen Museum, local markets, boutiques and craft centres, Ngong Hills Hiking, the Oloolua Nature Trail, and conservation projects such as the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the Giraffe Centre.
