GOCHEGANAS LODGE – GOCHEGANAS NATURE RESERVE – WINDHOEK
GocheGanas is located around 29km southeast from Windhoek on a hilltop overlooking a spectacular landscape and is a luxury lodge offering a unique combination of wildlife, nature and wellness experiences. GocheGanas is a descriptive Damara name meaning ‘place of Camel Thorns, abounding with Candle-Pod Acacias’.
The architecture and decor of the buildings at GocheGanas incorporates local arts and crafts in a reflection of the culture of Namibia. The lodge has just 16 totally private ensuite chalets under thatched roofs with uninterrupted and spectacular views over the surrounding Reserve.
With 25 different wildlife species located on the 6000-hectare Nature Reserve, game drives and walking activities are an enriching experience. There is also a good choice of wellness facilities and treatments – ideal after a long international flight or at the end of your road journey around Namibia.
LOCATION
GocheGanas is located in central Namibia just 29 km south-east of Windhoek.
Access is by self-drive – take the B1 out of Windhoek and after 20 km turn left on the gravel road D1463 for 9 km and turn right through the GocheGanas entrance gate. After passing through the gate, you will travel another 5 km along a winding road leading you to the lodge.

LODGE
GocheGanas has just 15 spacious elegant suites all with a private timber deck and equipped with air-conditioner, television, minibar and telephone. All 15 rooms have ensuite bathrooms with a separate toilet and 10 of the suites offer twin beds and outdoor showers, whilst the other 5 rooms offer king size beds.
There is one private family suite which has two separate double bedrooms connected by a spacious terrace. These bedrooms each have their own ensuite bathroom and the rooms are equipped with air-conditioner, television, minibar and telephone.
The Wellness Village consists of 11 specialist treatment rooms featuring state of the art equipment, a heated indoor swimming pool under a cathedral like masonry vault, an outdoor swimming pool on the Oasis Peninsula with stunning views, a Granite Bath (cave sauna), Kneipp showers and fitness, gym and yoga facilities, fruit and juice bar.
ACTIVITIES
GocheGanas offers you a combination of hospitality, wellness, wildlife and nature all working together to compliment a sense of well-being with tranquil surroundings, stunning landscapes and glimpses of herds wildlife. Activities range from outdoor activities such as walks and guided game drives to relaxing in the comfort of the Wellness Village.
Game on GocheGanas include steenbok, duiker, klipspringer, red hartebeest, wildebeest (blue), eland, Burchell’s zebra (Protected and conserved mammals in Namibia), springbok, oryx (gemsbok), kudu, giraffe, waterbuck, warthog, Hartmann’s mountain zebra (Endemic, one of Namibia’s conserved mammals), square-lipped (white) rhinoceros (Second largest land mammal), cheetah, leopard, caracal, striped polecat (Zorilla), and black wildebeest.
Amongst the small species you can spot small-spotted genet, honey badger, african wild cat, cape fox, bat-eared fox, black-backed jackal, aardwolf, aardvark (antbear), pandolin (scaly anteater) (Protected), yellow mongoose, banded mongoose, suricate (meerkat), ground squirrel, scrub hare, springhare, rock dassie, porcupine, bushbaby (lesser night ape) and chacma baboon.
Game drives – are taken early morning and late afternoon and include a stop halfway FOR snacks and drinks. Your qualified guide will share information on fauna, flora and interesting bird species. A highlight is the possibility to view the rhino family. Take breakfast, lunch or dinner out with you for a really special treat!
Guided Nature Walks – get out on foot to explore the area and get a different perspective of being in the bush!
