Onguma Bush Camp – Family-Friendly Safari at Etosha’s Edge
Onguma Bush Camp is a welcoming and relaxed safari lodge perfect for families and small groups. With sweeping views over a busy waterhole, comfortable accommodation, and a casual atmosphere, it’s an excellent base for exploring eastern Etosha.
Location
Located just outside the Von Lindequist Gate of Etosha National Park, the camp sits within the 34,000-hectare Onguma Nature Reserve. Its central location offers easy access to both park drives and private reserve activities.
The Camp – Accommodation & Style
The camp features 18 rooms and chalets in a variety of styles, including family units, loft rooms, and a secluded honeymoon bungalow. Each room is en-suite and air-conditioned, with access to the pool, bar, lounge, and an expansive deck overlooking the waterhole. A thatched dining area and child-friendly facilities make it ideal for longer stays.
Activities & Wildlife Viewing
Daily game drives into Etosha and Onguma Reserve are offered, along with birdwatching, bush walks, and wildlife viewing from the lodge’s deck. Kids can safely enjoy the pool while parents relax nearby with a drink or binoculars in hand.
Guest Information & Inclusions
Open year-round. All ages welcome. Includes accommodation, breakfast, and dinner (lunch and activities at additional cost). Best visited during the dry season (May–October), but suitable year-round for families.
